Are you running an email campaign and want to improve your current delivery rates to your audiences Inbox?
First off, make sure you can mark these off of your task list:
Catchy subject line – check
Engaging Content – check
Compelling Call-to-Action – check
Accomplishing all of the above is great – IF you are making it to your recipients Inbox. If you are not, the hard work you put into your rock star email means nothing. If you are suffering from high bounce rates here are some tips to making it to that email Inbox safely.
Clean up that old email list: If you’re experiencing an increase in bounce backs, dissect your list. If you have not cleaned, updated the list in a while, chances are there’s subscribers who have changed email addresses or are inactive. Be sure to remove those bounce backs off of your list and do so often. This will keep your list healthy and full of engaged subscribers.
Stick to a send schedule: Consistency is key to loyal subscribers. If you are running constant email campaigns, by sticking to a set schedule of send date and time, you build your brand reputation in turn improving delivery rates. If you are sending at a time that you are seeing a spike in unsubscribes, maybe it is time to do research and test thoroughly on when your audience likes to receive email. This will go a long way.
Use a branded domain/”From” name: When it comes to email, building trust is important. When recipients see a domain and/or name they recognize, they are much more likely to open. It is really that simple. Also, this is a detail that should be tested before implementing.
Follow up: What do you do if subscribers miss your first email entirely? Maybe their inbox was full that day, or you just sent it at a bad time. When this happens, you can always resend the email a few days later to re-engage the “non-responders.” Setting automatic follow-ups to go out 3-4 days after your initial email has a great chance of reengaging those who missed you the first time. This can possibly boost your email open rates substantially.
